UT Austin's Longhorn Racing Internal Combustion team was the original founding member of the Formula SAE competition, spearheaded by our Professor Ron Matthews in 1981. In recent years post-COVID, the team has expanded its numbers significantly and seen great results for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, placing top ten overall in 2022 and eleventh in design for 2023.

Highlights from last year include a complete aerodynamics package, custom electronic components and data collection, and a lightweight frame with optimized ergonomic packaging. Our goal continues to be to excel both in competition and in giving our members a meaningful learning experience through the world of automotive engineering. Hook'em!
